Poor Show , but they can be spoilers in State Pole.

Poor Show , but they can be spoiler in State Poll .

Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi , AIMIM and MNS could cut into Cong - NCP , BJP - SENA Seats

VBA Prakash Ambedkar and AIMIM OWaisi
Tie - Up has Surprise many.
The Congress - NCPs prospects of overcoming its Lok sabha poll drubbing in the
state - the alliance won just  five of the states 48 seats - looks dim in the assembly election likely to be scheduled for October this year, thanks to the vote cutters.
it was assumed that the combine would get 12 to 18 seats in the state, which could help it forget its defeat in 2014.
The Prakash Ambedkar - led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi [ VBA ] ,
however acted as a spoiler in 12 seats. The VBA divided Dalit and OBC Votes in Sangli , Hatkangale , Akola , Buldhana , Chandrapur
, Gadchiroli , Nanded , Solapur , Hingoli , Nashik , Parbhani , and
Latture , which cut into the oppositions odds of winning more seats.

The VBA receives between 1 lakhs and 3 lakhs votes in 12 consti -
tuencies , defeating bigwigs like Ashok Chawan , Sushilkumar Shinde and Raju Shetti , and secured 40 lakhs votes from all
Constituencies. Ambedkar had initially shown interest in joining
hands with Congress - NCP , but his  _ exorbitant demands _ came
in the way of a pact . He then banded with AIMIM leader Assaudin
Owaisi , surprising many in the political circle. The move even led
many to call the VBA as the BJPs Team B. Questions were also raised about Ambedkars ability to draw crowds , but the massive
turnouts at Solapur and Akola laid those migivings to rest.

Ambedkar has now expressed interest in contesting the assembly
election and has asked the congress for an alliance. Political experts
have , however , suspect that such a tie - up may not materialise.

The VBA has definitely damaged the Congress - NCP alliance in over 10 seats. Prakash Ambedkar s Vote share prior to the 2019
election was merely 0.22 %  , which has now increased to 7 % . The VBA could attract neo - Buddhist and a section of OBC votes.
Ambedkar s focuse was on getting political recognition , which he
did . But I doubt that the congress and VBA could join hands , since they were enemies in the Lok Sabha election ,,; said Surendra Jondhele ,  retired head of the department of politics of the University of Mumbai.

The BJP and  the Sena , how ever , cannot rest on their laurels.
Raj Thakrey failed to turn the massive turnouts at his rallies
before the Lok Sabha election but he could still rewrite the
game in the assembly poll.

We will attack the faillures of the State Govt. This time, since we have our own Candidates , we will stand a better chance of winning voters over

                                                                             - MNS functionary
MNS chief Raj Thakeray cannot be written off either . Not having
contested the Lok Sabha poll, his party will fight the assembly election . Although his fact - checking rallies against Prime Minister Narendra Modi failed to convert the huge turnouts into votes , a senior MNS functionary said Thackery may follow YSRCP chief Jagmohan Reddy s model and remain non - aligned.

WE will attack the failures of the state government and are looking
to fight from several seats. This time since we will have our own
candidates , we will stand a better chance of winning voters over.
There is space for an anti - government party and Rajsaheb can use
that .We will have to do it strategically and not be a partner of the
Congress - NCP combine .;
NCP chief Sharad Pawar has asserted that Raj had not failed in
the Lok Sabha election . ...it wont be right to say that the Congress - NCP didn't get advantage because of Raj s  rallies .
.;The picture would have been different had MNS s candidates fought the election,; he said after the results came out on may 23 .
indicating that the Congress - NCP could make the MNS part of
an alliance against BJP - SENA .
